It is easy hike except rainy day or after raining because it gets really muddy and slippery here even sunny day. There is no stairs. You need to grab branches of trees to climb. About 20 minutes later, you will see the most beautiful scenery like this photo. There are two pillboxes on the ridge. You can climb on top of pillboxes to take some rest and enjoy the views.
There is no parking lot so you need to park side road. 4 or 5 cars can park there. There is sometimes security guard from golf course since there is a club house around there.When I was trying to park one time, he helped me to park in a narrow side road. He was very nice. So if you see the security guard, don't be afraid.
I have never tried but I am sure you can see the sunrise from here because this is at the east of Oahu. However, please be careful to climb in the dark if you go before the Sun rises. There is no public light but only moon :p
P.S. I usually wear flip flops because it is easy to wash if it gets dirt and go directly to the beach after the hike without changing! If you care your foot, be sure to wear shoes. Don't forget to bring water and camera!
